What's a good shampoo to use for CRAZY (i'm not kidding) hair?

My friend has whitish-blond hair thats frizzy, tangled, and her scalp also has scabs from previous hair washing. She tried sunsilk, her hair became a bit smoother and soft ( but still the same) but the next day her hair became tangled and frizzy again... SHE HATES PERT ( so please no pert...), shes tried pantene didn't work at ALL... and she dosn't like spending to much money on salon products.... so something thats average priced, works well with tangled, frizzy hair, and cleans the hair extremly well.... THNX!!!What's a good shampoo to use for CRAZY (i'm not kidding) hair?
Herbal essences.

Honestly.

Get the one for that type of hair.

it is a miracle worker,What's a good shampoo to use for CRAZY (i'm not kidding) hair?
mine is frizzy too but i use Pantene

then before i leave the house r w.e i use Garnier stuff i think its ';sleek and shine'; its in a small bottle but yeah and it works great!
my clients with crazy hair prefer to use Paul Mitchell Super Skinny shampoo and conditioner. Then as a styling product they like to use super skinny serum. these are great when used together. Hope thats helpful!!
infusium 23 shampoo and conditioner...you can get it at CosCo.

  • Advantage trtmnt, flea shampoo, flea bombs in the house and my kid still gets flea bites, what else can you do?

I use the Advantage treatment on both cats and one dog every 3-4 weeks. bathe them with a good flea shampoo and treat the house (which is all tile except 1 room). I have seen no fleas or traces, the animals arent scratching and the adults in the house have no bites.

we're in florida and the last several nights its gotten down below 30 degrees so i thought for sure the fleas wouldnt be around, but today i saw a bunch of bites on my kid. why is this?Advantage trtmnt, flea shampoo, flea bombs in the house and my kid still gets flea bites, what else can you do?
Fleas are excellent at hiding and being dormant, then will suddenly appear. Try mixing some tea tree oil with water and using it on both pets and people. It is natural, can't hurt, and works wonderfully!Advantage trtmnt, flea shampoo, flea bombs in the house and my kid still gets flea bites, what else can you do?
It is possible your son is getting the bites outside. Does he go outside often?

Also despite what you may hear freezing temps does not kill the fleas! My dog gets fleas year around if i do not treat him and i am in Missouri. Temps got into the negatives with wind chill this year.

I would recommend having a professional come in and checking out the house. If adults aren't getting bit I see no reason why your son still would be.
Get an exterminator. Flea bombs almost never work - even for mild flea problems. The advantage should be killing them and sometimes it takes awhile for them all to completely die off. It's also possible your animals are still bringing them in from outside, especially if there are alot of other animals around your area. If it's still a problem in a week, I'd recommend somebody professional, maybe not even a professional treatment but at least some advice.
Well after working at the department of agriculture for a while....I learned that government agencies are free and EASY information....face it the government has so much money they can actually hire file clerks for things like the 4H clubs......and if they can do that and I know because I did it...then there HAS to be an agency for your question. I am sorry that I wouldn't know which one to begin with......however it might behoove u to think in this way...for there may just be an agency to assist you in this for free.....what u are doing is incredibly time consuming and painstaking......in fact Call the Dept. of Agriculture where ever you are, or a University or a Pest Control Company and see what the experts recommend. In essence look to fix the circuit breakers before you rewire the house.......(an analogy)

    Garbo
They may not be flea bites but maybe some other insect. Have you seen fleas on the dogs and cats? You can take a flea comb and run it through the fur and you will get flea dirt out if they do have fleas. You may want to have your doctor check to see if they are flea bites on your child.

Best smothing remedy for lice .... i think kids lice are immune to the shampoos tryed them all washed evryth

You may need a prescription strength pesticide. Also you could try a home remedy

';The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, promotes a home remedy consisting of equal amounts of any type of edible oil and white vinegar, to which 20 drops of Tea Tree Oil are added. The creamy mixture is applied to freshly washed damp hair, massaged into scalp, and combed through to ends of hair. Hair is then wrapped in a plastic bag (young children should not be left unattended) for 3 hours or more. Lice and nits are then said to slide off easily, and be suffocated. The tea tree oil serves to make the environment inhospitable to lice. This treatment can be repeated daily for ten days, or at least repeated in 4-5 days.';.Best smothing remedy for lice .... i think kids lice are immune to the shampoos tryed them all washed evryth
try kwell shampoo... its effective..Best smothing remedy for lice .... i think kids lice are immune to the shampoos tryed them all washed evryth
Lice do become immune to shampoos, plus they are HIGHLY TOXIC and just as bad if not worse then if you were to spray your child's head with Raid bug spray. Prescription shampoos are even worse and have been linked to leukemia.

The best smothering remedy is to use neem oil. The best place to get it is Ebay, I can tell you the seller I have purchased from if you would like to know. He has the best neem oil and the best price on it. Whoever you get it from, make sure it;s 100% pure, and preferably cold-pressed and unrefined.

I have lots of experience with kids. I have a friend who has 11 kids, so when one kid gets lice, EVERYONE gets them. What I do is thoroughly coat everyone's hair in neem oil and leave in hair 24-48 hours. Neem oil works not only by smothering, but it makes lice not want to feed or breed and prevents eggs from hatching. The eggs (nits) will slide out of the hair easily afterward.
    lice spray
try vinegar and baking soda then try the rid this should help if not call ur doctor they should know.

Why does shampoo make my hair itch so much (it doesn't seem to matter which kid)?

you probably have either a very dry scalp, or you need some kind of sensitive shampoo. Why does shampoo make my hair itch so much (it doesn't seem to matter which kid)?
    You more than likely have dry skin, which tends to itch when washed. Look for a shampoo that is either ';moisturizing'; or ';or dry skin/hair'; or ';dry scalp relief.';

    Good luck!

Teens/grown-ups: be honest, have you ever washed your hair with kid's or baby shampoo??

im guilty as charged! LOL, my little sister always gets her own shampoo. there was this one time, i think it must have been ';Cherry Blast'; scent or a fun strawberry one or watermelon. anyway, when i was in the shower, i saw her shampoo bottle and i got curious, so grabbed it and smelled it. it smelled soooo good, i ended up washing my hair with it! ive also washed my hair with baby shampoo before. lol!

have you ever done htis??Teens/grown-ups: be honest, have you ever washed your hair with kid's or baby shampoo??
yea, after to many times of getting shamboo in my eyes.Teens/grown-ups: be honest, have you ever washed your hair with kid's or baby shampoo??
Yes, I used it all my life--and I'm 27 years old! I use Johnson and Johnson's baby shampoo. Whenever I tried to change to another brand, my hair rejected it. It would just never look or feel the way it did with the baby shampoo, so I went back. I'm proud, no shame here! Whatever works! :)
Yes, many times (coconut scented). I don't use it all the time (more not than so), but my hair is past my waist so the detangler in it really helps- and it makes it so soft.
yeah there's nothing wrong about it

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?…
of course and i use her bubbly bath as it turns the water different colours but shhh dont tell her.lol

Im guilty for eating her choc pudding baby food aswell when i was weaning her. :O lol
no, but my dad (40) ONLY uses baby shampoo, and only has since forever...lol he has really healthy hair....is it suppose to be embarrassing?
yer i love kids ones. the l'oreal ones smell fit the red bottles with green lids. haha lol the shame ha
guilty as charged - but only because i was out of shampoo but what i do do quite often is use their shampoo or bubble bath as body wash - it smells so good
Often it is also brilliant for handwashing delicate knitwear...
Considering that a baby of any age will have more hair than I have, then I don't feel it wrong to use their shampoo.
yes cause it was on sale at less than other shampoos. Landers Baby Shampoo.. it was suppose to be fruit scent.. Kiwi I think!
oh yeah all the time is was like cherry almond loreal kids it smelled amzing my lil sis wasn't too happy with me though lol
Oh yeah I have done this and it made my hair look pretty good too if that's possible, ha, ha! I've also had to use plain old soap before too.
Yeah, a couple years ago. I remember when my sister was like thirteen, she bouht some kid shampoo for my grandpa and he used it. Weird.
i accidentally washed my hair with dog shampoo...but it didn't smell very good!
Yeahh, I was at my dad's house and didn't have shampoo so I used my little brother's. I think it was pineapple scented. :]
well i have never used baby shampoo before but i used to use kids shampoo. if ya got it why not use it
of course! l'oreal kids cheeky cherry shampoo is THE best shampoo ever!
yes i love johnson's baby shampoo.the smell is gorgeous :-)
Oh yeah totally I mean...you know...there's nothing worse to a 28 year old male than crying when I get shampoo in my eyes so I better go get that tear free stuff
yeah. My sisters JOhnson $JOhnson baby shamppo was there. so I used it. ANd a Strawberry shortcake bubble bath soap.
I have 3 kids. Does that answer your question? I love their shampoo!!
Yeah because I ran out of my own.
    Yes. I love the smells!!!

I'm a VERY grown up person too!!!
yes, I love the smell of J%26amp;J baby samphoo
no .. but I Love the baby body wash

Yeah...i dont think there is a problem with doinq that. What the heck?
Yeah, nothing wrong with it. It smells so good.
    Yes and loved it.

Has anyone tried loreal kids shampoo?is it good for hairs?

my kids use it, i've had no complaints. even i've used it on occasion when i ran out of my own shampoo.Has anyone tried loreal kids shampoo?is it good for hairs?
Lol, if it's for your kids it's great i used to love it myself but i'm 15 now and herbal essence is the best BEST. I hate it how they put like 2 in 1 because the conditioner doesn't work as well. So i buy them seperately. But i used it since i was like 8 or 9 so my hair's like all smooth shiny and soft. Plus i LOVE the scent . Your kids or yourself will like the l'oreal shampoo because it smells great. I'm a big fan of good smelly shampoos but they gotta be good kinds.Has anyone tried loreal kids shampoo?is it good for hairs?
i have been using loreal kids for the past 10 years and it is the only one i use on my kids is this for a child and what do you mean by hairs ? it work real good my kids used it until they became teenagers and now only my 10 year old still uses it so yea it is a good shampoo

I jusst bought some more kids shampoo and told my youngest son that it WAS NOT bubble bath, he got mad and said ';Auh, come on, that's bubble bath' Should I be worried?Kids Shampoo???????????
Why should you be worried? All he did was voice his opinion...Kids Shampoo???????????
Are you always running short of kid's shampoo at your house? Now you know who to suspect.

    Baby shampoo stained kid's scalp???

Our son is blonde, fair skinned, and has dandruff like no other, lol. We just started using a different baby shampoo, and all of a sudden he has neon yellow flakes on his scalp!!! The underlying skin isn't stained, just the flakes (they'renormally white), and it looks bizarre. I've already tried using clarifying shampoo to strip the dyes out, but all that did was make his hair fluffier, so now it's even MORE noticable! What do I do???Baby shampoo stained kid's scalp???
Nothing you really can do, except get organic and/or natural baby shampoo, Burt's Bees has a good one (Target carries it), it's twice as much as the other stuff but is so much better for babies scalp. How old is your son? You may want to use a tiny bit of tea tree oil (dandruff cure, lice cure, stuffy nose cure, great stuff) in your hand of shampoo next time you wash his hair. Just one drop should do it. I would steer clear of the industrial machine cleaner (yes our beloved shampoos have an alter ego)

Also, don't shampoo too often, 3 x's a week at the most, shampooing too much strips essential oil from scalp. Get unrefined shea butter. Wash hair in the morning, dry then apply the shea butter. This stuff works wonders on my husbands psoriasis.

Hope this helpsBaby shampoo stained kid's scalp???
Take him to the GP, it sounds like sebbhoraic dermatitis.
He doesn't have dandruff, he probably has cradle cap. After shampooing use the soft baby brush to try to loosen the scales. If the scales don't loosen easily, rub a few drops of mineral oil, baby oil, or olive oil onto your baby's scalp. Let the oil soak into the scales for a few minutes, and then brush and shampoo your baby's hair as usual. If you leave the oil in your baby's hair, it may only allow more scales to accumulate on your baby's scalp.
It doesnt sound like a shampoo issue. It sounds more like cradle cap. Read more about it here:

    http://www.babycenter.com/0_cradle-cap_8鈥?/a>

A lot of babies get it, my son did too. I just used Paul Mitchell Baby Don't Cry shampoo %26amp; brushed his scalp gently %26amp; it eventually went away. Dont worry...it sounds totally normal.

Is this true???some kids tear free shampoos and bodywashes contain???

Novacaine??? you know the numbing meds they use at dentists, and that certain kids bubble bath soaps contain a cancer causing ingredient,I heard this from a reliable source but wanted to confirm with others who know about this too. If so I am discontinuingIs this true???some kids tear free shampoos and bodywashes contain???
The reason some baby shampoos do not sting eyes is that there are minute amounts of a drug

similar to novacaine in the shampooIs this true???some kids tear free shampoos and bodywashes contain???
Also, some baby hair and body washes contain formaldehyde.-Pediatrician told us.
I believe the ingredient you are thinking of may be lidocaine or benzocaine, but yes, it does have a numbing effect.

Here is a link that addresses that issue.

And most shampoos, body washes etc, contain sodium laurel sulfate which has been the subject of great debate as to the cancer causing and skin irritating properties it may possess.

Do some research on SLS and draw your own conclusions.

    Stimulating Shampoos for kids hair?

My daughter is 19 months old and her hair is growing very very slowly. Do you know where I can buy or oder stimulating shampoos for infants? Web links are greatly appreciated, thanksStimulating Shampoos for kids hair?
no need to worry, over the years their hair should start taking it's texture and form. There is nothing on the market right now that makes hair grow faster. Massaging the scalp will help a little bit but it won't make hair grow fast, it would be a good idea though to sooth your baby's scalp, just do it gently :) i find this product to be very good and gentle for babies http://www.paulmitchell.com/Products/Pau鈥?/a>

Loreal Kids is great. When I was younger, this is all I used. It smells so good, and they have certain kinds for different activities like swimming. Its ophthalmologist tested, so I strongly suggest it, its tearless, affordable, and again, smells amazing!
    try loreal for kids

Is there any difference between ';baby'; shampoo and ';kid's'; shampoo?

Yes, there apparently is otherwise there wouldn't be two different kinds. The baby shampoo is made SPECIFICALLY for babies. They have sensitive scalps and the baby shampoo is formulated to be mild and gentle. Also, if the shampoo gets into their eyes it can become an irritant and cause problems.

The kid's shampoo is much stronger even though there may not be much of an age difference. The chemicals are stronger because kids are more active and have more oils in their hair as they grow and their hair grows. Then you also have the scents that are appealing to the children, but to a baby it may become an irritant. Is there any difference between ';baby'; shampoo and ';kid's'; shampoo?
    The mild factor.

Most kids shampoos get fancy scents and stuff which can irritate a young babyIs there any difference between ';baby'; shampoo and ';kid's'; shampoo?
Baby shampoo is milder for your babies head
    Price!!!
Yes a marked difference, babies skin is very delicate .Children skin has developed a stronger epidermis surface.
Baby shampoo's are more mild. I'd buy a store brand baby shampoo before a brand name kid's shampoo.

Moms - I need your opinions on kid's shampoo...?

Until now we've used the Johnsons Head and Body wash, but my daughter's hair is getting longer and tangling after her bath. Was wondering about the 2-in-1 kids shampoos, didn't know whether to try Suave brand or Loreal. Any experiences with either? I already know the price difference, and I do not like the detangler sprays, and would rather not use them.Moms - I need your opinions on kid's shampoo...?
I have used both you mentioned. While suave is cheaper, I didn't find the conditioners in it to work very well.

I pay the extra dollar or so and go with Loreal. My 3 yo has hair past her shoulders, and it keeps her hair very silky and soft.Moms - I need your opinions on kid's shampoo...?
    I like the Loreal.
I have found that both of those you mentioned either don't get the tangles out or leave my girls' hair a little greasy. I personally like the Johnson's no More Tangles. I use the Kan-doo brand hand soap and shampoo once in a while, it foams so I find it doesn't leave a greasy look and I haven't had too many problems with tangles.
Both are fine. I have found that the 2 in 1 aren't as effective as buying a bottle of kids' conditioner--Suave works great. My niece loves the grape one.
Loreal kids shampoo is great. (smells good too!)
Actually, I can't see why you wouldn't want to use Johnson %26amp; Johnson's ';No More Tangles';....it's a really great product, and helps with the nastiest knots. Used it most of my life, and my hair is super-soft and healthy.
The Loreal 2in1 always worked good for my kids when they were little. When I used to babysit also, for little girls with long hair, I would just used a small amount of my conditioner and that would work wonders.
From experience the Loreal works better.
I always used just a spot of hair conditioner/rinse on my daughter's hair when it was longer, then wash it out. BWC conditioner is safe and works beautifully.
We use Suave. It works GREAT! I would definitely go for the cheaper brand.
I do not know how old your daughter is, but my now 2 year old daughter still uses the baby shampoo (Unless she showers with me..then she uses my panteen) but when I am done shampooing her hair, i use a little conditioner on it. she then has silky soft hair and tangle free.

I personally avoid the 2 in ones as it really does not matter what type of shampoo you use..it is all in the conditioner. I have found int he past that the 2 in 1 gives us static and they do not make hair feel soft and silky.

    Good luck
You should use conditioner in her hair. Just use it on the ends and it will be easy to comb.
Suave is very good and Loreal kids is good too but more expensive and smaller bottle.
okay i would reccomend loreal. But not any loreal loreal kids. It is much easiler and gets out tangles.
I have used both and I prefer the Suave 2-in-1. I think it works just as well as the rest and it is a little cheaper.
Use Loreal. Suave is a cheaper brand.
I personally like Suave brand better. My girls have very long hair and I use it on all of them. They still get tangles, but it does help.
they both work good but dont use the 2 in 1 i woud rather buy seperate shampoo and conditioner it works better my daughter is 3 1/2 and has her hair like 4 inches below her shoulder
I have used the 2 in 1 shampoos I didn't like the results it left my daughters hair slightly tangled still. I use circle of friends hair conditioner with all natural ingredients....leaves my babies hair shiny, silky and fresh smell.
Loreal is a good kids shampoo, my sister uses it and its good.
kids loreal 2 - 1 the one tht doesnt sting ur eyes its good lol

    xxxxx
I am 14, I use head and shoulders, It is a good shampoo brand, it lasts long when i wash it too. Plus you dont get any dandruff
My mom is a hair stylist and she gets my daughter a shampoo called Baby Don't Cry by Paul Mitchell it works great and I think that Paul Mitchell also makes detangling products as well.
Sauve dried my daughters head out so I just started using my shampoo and conditioner on her. She does fine with it
My hair is very tangly and I don't like the way detangle sprays leave my hair all greasy.

For some reason, Pantene 2-1 works for me... its the only thing that leaves my hair manageble after washing.

I think ditching the body and hair soap is a good idea though... that probably isn't made with ';detangling'; in mind.

Also, when you're washing it, wash it in such a way that you're not ';smearing it all over'; and making more tangles as you go. And combing it while wet in the bath, with shampoo in, sometimes helps... Good luck!
The suave 2-in-1 works well. My kids have black hair and its long like mid back length and as you know black hair gets really tangly after the water lol...and i'v found the 2-in-1 to work well after use. Easier to comb after the shower with minor tangles but not totally tangle free. But i know if it'll work on black hair it has to work on your daughters straight hair. Hope that was a little help.

    Baby/kid shampoo ok for kittens?

When I first got my kitten they told me wash her with baby shampoo, but for some reason I lost the bottle. So yesterday I bought some shampoo that is actually for kids but still is 'no tears' formula. Its mild and wont burn her eyes. Is that ok to use?Baby/kid shampoo ok for kittens?
Ok, it is seriously rediculous that all these people are responding saying that it's bad because cats wash themselves. Dear lord, the cat is white, people. And this person is obviously going to bathe the cat anyway, and is just trying to find out if this shampoo is just as good as any cat shampoo.

I bathe my longhaired cat once every couple weeks. It keeps her dander down, so when people who are allergic come to visit have a much more mild reaction to her. It also helps with hairballs, as well as keeping her coat as shiny and fluffy as possible. There is nothing wrong with bathing your cat, you should be getting them used to it at as young an age as possible.

As far as baby shampoo goes, I wouldn't risk it. I'm sure it would be fine, but there are tons of kitten/cat shampoos you can get at any pet supply store or order online. Baby shampoos might be fine on their fur, but may contain chemicals that are not wanted by cats. Also remember that they lick their fur, so any chemical residue will be consumed by them as they groom themselves afterwards, and cats are allergic to so many ingredients in things we don't even double guess. The cat shampoos are usually pretty cheap, generally starting at 5-7 dollars, and well worth it. At least then you will know for sure that it is safe to use, and efficent as well.

Good luck with whatever you decide!!Baby/kid shampoo ok for kittens?
As long as there is no fragrance it should be okay. Cat really shouldn't be bathed unless absolutely necessary because they clean themselves.
I, too, have a long haired cat - she's usually pretty good at cleaning herself, but once in awhile (between trips to the groomer) she needs a bath.

I use Johnson %26amp; Johnson's Baby Shampoo - the vet even suggested it. It works fine, allows the brush to go through her hair easily afterwards, and she dries within a few hours.

Ignore the people suggesting not to use regular baby shampoo or not to wash her in general. The baby shampoo is more gentle and she'll appreciate you're attempt at helping maintain her coat.

Words of advice: When bathing her, keep a towel handy and use a large sink; don't use hot water, only luke warm; rinse well - with long hair the soap tends to be a little more difficult to get out.
I just got a kitten and before I brought her home I stopped at the vet to deflea her and they told me to use a very small amount of Dawn original dish soap. At first I thought this was weird, but then I thought about the ducks from that Exxon Valdez spill in the late 80's and how it was gentle enough for them. I did it and her little kitten coat was so soft and shiny. I only used a small dab and she sat very calmly. I would go with what your vet recommends they know what is best. I have kids and I prefer Gerber aloe all in one shampoo/body wash for them, it has a nice smell. Good luck.
NO! Cats have their own special shampoo but you don't really need to bathe them they do it them selves.
I have these thick cloth-wipes that I use on my two cats. All cats bathe themselves, but it is always necessary to bathe them, either with a cat shampoo, or these easy wipes, because not all spots are reached by cats (i.e.-their backs where they are pet 99% of the time). So, if I were you, I would try getting some cat wipes from a store like Wal-mart or even a pet-store, they are only like $2-$3 and leave the kitties smelling nice and fresh without being soaking wet for the rest of the day :)
Baby shampoo works great, the no tears no tangles stuff is good. L脫real kids shampoo is good too, I used it on Dancer once, and she smelled like a watermelon! LOL They have different scents though....
they make special shampoo for animals...you should never use human products on them. Not sure why you are giving your cat a bath...they really don't need them like dogs do.
    I asked a similar question,

alot of answers were to use Kitty wipes from Petco
Why are you washing your cat?

They do that well enough on their own as long as it's been weaned properly, they learned it from their mother.

Cats HATE water or getting wet.

They're extremely fastidious all on their own!
You can bathe your kitten if you like. No harm no foul. No tears is a great idea. Um, but your kitty is gonna put up a big fuss, until she gets used to it.
I washed my cat with baby shampoo and she got a few rashes. Don't do it!
you should get some tear free KITTEN shampoo
    NO!!!

    Cats bathe themselves.

Little kid shampoo to wash my puppy..?

my retarded sister used kid shampoo to wash my dog instead of dog shampoo

is anything gonna happen to her?Little kid shampoo to wash my puppy..?
She will be fine. Dog shampoos have a different pH level than people shampoos, but people shampoo won't really cause a problem.Little kid shampoo to wash my puppy..?
    omg no!

your silly, baby shampoo is better than adult shampoo, it has a a lower soap to water balance. It's gentle on the skin and thats what you have to watch out for, using regular shampoo may be a little harsh for the dogs skin.

you dont have anything to worry about! =)
It shouldnt. Before I discovered cat shampoo can be used on rabbits I used baby shampoo. As long as your sister washed it off all the way, you're dog will be fine. :]
If it was Baby Shampoo then there should not be a problem. And kid's shampoo should be mild enough for a dog.

Sorry to hear about your sister.Congrats to your parents for raising her at home.
u can use people shampoo on her she will be fine for sure we use it on our dog all the time and we condition her. also smells alot better then puppy shampoo
It might dry out her skin a little bit but I've never had a problem with Baby Shampoo.
nothing to either the dog or your sister.

I have been using L'oreal Kids, for almost all my life. I am currently 12 but turning 13 in about 10 months. I have straight soft hair. I want to use something different than L'oreal Kids because well I think I'm growing out of it. And I'm heading into high school next year. Can you reccommend a product that helps keep natural healthy hair? Thanks! PS I don't wnat something too strong! Thanks a bunch! Include websites if you can pleasee ! =DShampoo help!!!! Any Herbal Essences product is amazing! Plus, they have tons of different types of shampoos and conditioners so you can find the perfect one for you!Shampoo help!!!! Growing out of L'oreal Kids?
They have a great one called ';Hello Hydration'; which is fantastic for winter time when hair can get so dry. My favorite, though, is ';Long Term Relationship'; because I'm growing out my hair and it prevents me from getting attacked from split ends. :) Any of them will do wonders for your hair though! Could you mix shampoo and conditioner together then just do one rinse....for kids?

Yes, I do it all the time when I need to shower in a rush. It works perfectly fine.

I usually mix the shampoo and conditioner in my hands first then apply to my hair.Could you mix shampoo and conditioner together then just do one rinse....for kids?
Why not just buy a 2-in-1 shampoo conditioner to begin with?Could you mix shampoo and conditioner together then just do one rinse....for kids?
ohh yess! b/c it seems that the 2in1 that you can by just doesn't contain enough conditioner :).. I would do it half and half. and go for it. :)
Yes, but don't buy a two in one, it ruins your hair.
YES!! I have done this many many times
No. A 2in1 Shampoo Conditioner is a load of crap. The two products do totally separate things. Shampoo lifts the cuticle to remove dirt and oils, and conditioner closes the cuticle and deposits minerals and such to repair damaged hair.

What's the best shampoo to use in a kid head that has sores in it from being so dry and from ringworms?

Dandruff shampoo and add a few drops of tea tree oil to it. Leave it on for ten minutes before rinsing. Shampoo every day. What's the best shampoo to use in a kid head that has sores in it from being so dry and from ringworms?
I'd buy a shampoo that has conditioner in it, so let me recommend Pantene shampoo/conditioner all -in-one. Make sure the bottle says 2-in-one on it. No need to shampoo daily, as it strips the oil out of his hair. He needs oil on his scalp to ease the soreness.

*Do not use a dandruff shampoo as others have suggested. It is very harsh on the scalp %26amp; will dry the scalp.*What's the best shampoo to use in a kid head that has sores in it from being so dry and from ringworms?
Head and shoulders shampoo or you could try regular baby shampoo because its very gentle on the skin! Good Luck!

you can get this at any drug store. Its not a shampoo but a powder you but into a bath. It mosturizes your entire body.
Loreal Kids Swim and sport shampoo extra gentle
a moisturizing type... l'oreal for kids has great specific shampoo for chlorine exposure

Are there any shampoos/conditioner like Loreal Kids but for adults?

I just love the way the Loreal Kids shampoos smell. I'm 15 though, and was wondering if it was okay to use Loreal Kids on my hair. It's long, straight, and pretty undamaged and manageable. If not, are there shampoos that smell just as good as Loreal Kids. Also, does Loreal Kids make conditioner? Are there any shampoos/conditioner like Loreal Kids but for adults?
I bought my boyfriend some kid shampoo for Christmas and I love the way his hair smells when he uses it. I also use it sometimes when I am taking a day off from conditioner cause it is easy to brush through after. But I also use a two in one tangle free kind. It cleans your hair the same way that adult shampoo does. So go for it, everyone will wonder what your secret is to your hair smelling nice, plus it keeps your hair really soft. Are there any shampoos/conditioner like Loreal Kids but for adults?
Just buy normal Loreal shampoo, you can buy the same flavors. I think it is called Loreal Everpure. I love their orange smoothie scent! This is what it looks like:

    http://www.twolia.com/blogs/daily-beauty鈥?/a>

Yes, they make conditioner. My favorite shampoo is this it smells even better than Loreal:

    http://i.walmartimages.com/i/p/00/07/94/鈥?/a>

It is Suave Kids watermelon. It smells really awesome! But go ahead and use the Loreal Kids if you want. It is probably cheaper than the other kind of Loreal.
Go ahead and use it, adults use Johnson's baby shampoo too. If you're embarrassed pour it into another container, lol. If you want a grown up one (even though hair is hair so it shouldn't really matter) just pop the tops at the store and see what else you like the smell of.
yes you can use them i would not suggest using them if your hair is damaged. also after you use them i suggest using a deep conditioner by any brand.
You can use The Kids one it's not like its gunna screw up your hair. I know!! It does smell good.
Try Herbal Essences. They smell so good, and they have a lot different kinds. I love they way they leave my hair!
    just use the kids kind.

Did your mum ever wash your hair with Vosene shampoo, when you was a kid?

I can remember my mum always washing my hair with this stuff, what was the purpose of using medicated shampoo constantly as a child? (all i know is that it made your eyes sting if you ever got any in your eyes).Did your mum ever wash your hair with Vosene shampoo, when you was a kid?
Oh my god yessssss! Lol.. And it use to sting alot if it went in eyes, i hated itDid your mum ever wash your hair with Vosene shampoo, when you was a kid?
    Awww thanks x Report Abuse

yes she did. i miss that. the childhood, and mum's scrubbing me in bath till i got really red! i like the smell of that shampoo too. you can still buy it in shops. Its only 拢1 now from pound shop..it used to cost quite alot before. dont think its popular anymore

back then the shampoo was really popular. everyone had it
forget the purpose.... what about the smell? I can still smell that evil stench 20 years later. Gives me nitemares!
oh god..yes - all the time...it was ALWAYS Vosene...i think there might have been an advert for it on tv %26amp; that swayed her as there wasnt many shampoo adverts in those days...so i assume she thought she was using the 'best'!!
yeh lol! my mum used to use vosene on me all the time! them were the days...
your joking we got what was on offer at the supermarket-my friend used vosene and i always thought she was posh lol
    Yes

and your question even reminded me of how it smelled and that wierd green bottle it came in !

    Wow

What was worse tho, was when my mum used to wipe my face with a tissue from her handbag that she SPAT on to make it wet EEEWWWWWWWWWWWW the smell of make up and leather EEUCH
vosene, i hated that stuff, yep i remember those days well, sitting in the bath having the bubbles drip down my face while she was applying a dollop to my sisters scalp.
yes she did but back then they didnt nhave very many diffrent shampoo's just silverkrin and a couple of others and they only had some for dry greasy and normal hair, unlike today whan the bathroom is full of lots of products then we didnt have very many so in our house we use to get vosene as a change one coz it made the hair nice an shiney and two cos it was a chang from the other shampoos for greasy ect
sting? that stuff felt like it was burning out my soul!
YES AND I STILL USE IT NOW ( AGE 21)
Don't worry about it. My mum used it as well, the smell still takes me back, but it's a nice smell.
    Vosene.......Oh, happy days!
    proberly... i dunno hehe
Ooh, I love the smell of Vosene! I remember my mum making my hair squeak to make sure it was clean!! Can you still buy that stuff?
    Yes my mum did too.

She used to use it on herself and couldnt be bothered to buy me a different brand.
It was anti-dandruff. You can still get something like it, called Polytar, which is very good for some scalp conditions.
With Vosene and the amount of Chlorine they used to put in swimming pools its a wonder any of can see.
yes and it used to stink!!!
i used to buy it as a single adult living on my own as recently as early to mid 90s. i love the smell. don't know if you can still get it.
mine did and i loved the smell
My mum did, and I loved the smell, ohhhhhhhh happy days. She used to wash our hair then sit us in front of the fire and go nit searching, I had the shortest hair in my family yet I was the one who got nits.

And my mum also got a tissue out of her bag, spat on it to wipe my dirty face.
    she did actually. Lol
any shampoo makes your eyes sting to high heaven regardless of it being medicated or not. that shampoo was designed for cradle cap, which you get when your a tiddler.
I remember my mum used to use it on me as a kid, But I have also heard it helps to deter nits!!, Being as its medicated

But yes I do remember Vosene, I cant stand the smell of it now and I would not inflict on my children either
yes i was washed it it then lol im in my 40s mostly bald and use it nowadays too you can still get it quite easy everyone. I buy it from my local bodycare shop i think its 99p for the vosene orginal shampoo its still a great no nonsense shampoo. Buy some and see.
sure apart from anti-dandruff it was also good for the skin

i never suffered with teenage spots

and as some others have said

i also use either that type of soap or you should try

COALTAR soap that is really good for a spot free skin
I thought I was the only one! I think you now need to set up a Vosene support group. And I don't believe for a second there is any product even remotley similar on the market today!! Although, lets be honest, we didn't really know any different. lol
Yes, but wasn't the smell delightful?!
    yeah! I do!

You can still get it too....

infact I bought a bottle of it the other week...and it still smells the same!...*Oh the memories!*
you can still get it. tesco does its own version too.

Not being a girl, i dont need fancy ho hoba or twists of lemon or cactus sap, to get my hair like a freshly washed labradore.

I use it cause it feels like your hairs clean, the smell i guess.

yes it is safe. my mother used mane and tail shampoo on my sister and i when we were kids. i used to love that stuff. i didn't know it was still around, i might have to buy a bottle for old times sake...Mane and tail shampoo safe for kids?
suave for kids!! its very safe and is tear fear and it works as a conditionor and a shampoo and they will love the bubbles and the nice scenty smell ^.^ good luck

    my personal fav

*fairy berry :DMane and tail shampoo safe for kids?
Not even for your horses! It has 3 kinds of detergent and wax in it. Get a good professional shampoo for your kids. I have kids and horses and I woulddn't use this product on either of them!
    ew. don't do that. grodyyyyyyyyyyy
i would tend to use a gentle organic shampoo for children.

most shampoos for adults are not really suited for younger scalps and children's hair.
If your kids have manes and tails- GO FOR IT!
Mane and tail is highly alkaline and causes tearing. Arbonne products are the only FDA certified vegan organic product line. They offer a wide range of product including a lower ph, kid friendly shampoo. It is not alkaline so no tears. Thats always good. Check out the link below for more answers. Good Luck!

    PS. Try the makeup. Awesome!

    http://www.arbonne.com/products/baby/was鈥?/a>
    I don't think so...

Mane and Tail contains strong ingredients like SLS (sodium lauryl/laureth sulfate), this ingredient is used in garage floor cleansers and it's purpose is to produce the 'suds', actually a lot of shampoo products contain this kind of ingredient but i see some that does't, some only contains ammonium lauryl sulfate.

Since this ingredient contain strong chemicals, i think it is not safe for children, just go for the mild ones, because their scalp is sensitive to strong chemicals...

    :)
    im not shure..!

    srry
i don't see why not. the biggest thing for children is that they don't understand to keep their eyes closed when they have shampoo in their hair. as long as you're paying attention to your kids, i don't see why you couldn't use this.

i've heard a lot of bad things about ';kid-safe'; shampoos.

NOT TO MENTION suave is the worst shampoo in the world, i think. it's sooo harsh on your hair! i would never use this on my child!

Ok do you belive kids should be shampooed at the barbers or hairdressers.and if so at what age?

it was a shock for me when i was told to leanforward at the barbers and get shampooed.now i love it.and think all kids should be done from age 3.Ok do you belive kids should be shampooed at the barbers or hairdressers.and if so at what age?
I agree. A gentle technician will alleviate the fear of getting haircuts so common in little children. The more they participate in the process, the more confidence is instilled. The only problems with small children in my salon chair is one or more parents looking on anxiously ~ children sense uneasiness which in turn makes them uneasy.Ok do you belive kids should be shampooed at the barbers or hairdressers.and if so at what age?
my son is 7 and he would freak if I had him shampooed at the hairdresser. I always take to the hairdresser directly after a bath so his hair is wet. He has to have wet hair to get a good cut because he has really curly hair.

    I think it really depends on the kid about ';what age to shampoo';
so totally yes they should my son likes and the dryers too
They probably should. But I never got shampooed when I was a kid.

About shampoo and conditioner for kids...?

Are there any good shampoo/conditioners for kids that are not 2 in 1? We have a lot of kids so we can't really afford salon products. We would have to get it at a drug store or department store. Thanks.About shampoo and conditioner for kids...?

check your local walmart you should be able to buy a 16oz bottle for less then 3 dollars.

We have the smell of baby urine in our kids room we have shampooed the carpet with pet oder stuff wash down t

washed down the walls and sprayed deordant stuff Even opened the windows and let it air out. Nothing works. We also called a professional cleaner nothing Were having trouble with CPS because of this and want to get rid of that smell anyone have an answerWe have the smell of baby urine in our kids room we have shampooed the carpet with pet oder stuff wash down t
Steam clean the carpet and instead of adding soap, use white distilled vinegar. I have a pet that comes ';inside'; to potty and I use it constantly. It won't leave an odor either. If you can pinpoint certain spots, baking soda can work but believe or not ';listerine'; gets urine odors out of most anything!!!We have the smell of baby urine in our kids room we have shampooed the carpet with pet oder stuff wash down t
You should try removing the carpet permently. Maybe the smell is coming from the furniture in the room.

*Clean all the furniture from top to bottom with a mix of bleach and water. If CPS knows that you are making an honest effort to get rid of the smell then they cannot mess with you about it.

*Keep all receipts of cleaning supplies that you bought to clean the room and start keeping a record of what you have done to the room and what you have told CPS and their response to you.

*CPS can also give you a money voucher to a local K-Mart or Target to get cleaning supplies.

*Let them witness you cleaning it when they come for home visits.

    Hope this helps :)
if you have a ';chem-dry'; franchise in your area have them clean your carpets. if not try replacing the carpet %26amp; padding and maybe even the beds. why does it smell like yerin in the first place? do you have pets? maybe the kids are still peeing somewhere in the room. vinager also works to neutralize oders
    lol
Sounds like you are going to have to replace the carpet.

Ever hear of putting pullups or disposable diaper on the kids?
There are products that contain enzymes that will digest the urine and thereby eliminate the smell. One such product is called ';Nature's Miracle';. You can get it at pet stores and a lot of grocery stores. Before doing this you might want to inspect the room with a UV light to see if you can find the source of the odor. Organic fluids (such as urine) will show up under a black light.

As people have mentioned, the urine might be in the carpet pad so you might have to use a lot to make sure the carpet and the pad are completely soaked.
carpet cleaning should have done the job because they usually deoderise as well, i'm just guessing but may be the smell isn't in the carpet or the walls' it might be in the matress. take it out side to air it , then smell the room while the matress is out side , if the smells gone its the matress, any how all matress should be aired at some stage or another it can't hurt
vinigar and soda crystles, with the crystles leave it in some water to dissolve, not sure of quantities it thats all i can say.
CPS came to your house because it smells like pee...

I guess you could be a smart @$$ and tell them to try to get rid of the stench.

I've never had that problem... put one of those febreeze cd smell player things in it...

That makes my room smell like nothing but good.
Believe it or not, shampoo carpets with clear ammonia and water mix, Im in the cleaning busness and we use this alot to remove odors. Smells bad when wet,(like pee) but odors are gone when it dries. Really works! You can also set a dish around the house(not with pets or children) and it will absorb odors. Make sure you use a carpet machine which not only cleans, but extracts as well. (one that puts the solution down, then pulls it back up with dirt ect.) You will have a tank of dirty smelly water. That way you dont leave anything in carpet which will attract more dirt or odors.
Replace the carpet. - And- your welcome.
    boil cabbage

    saute garlic

    poach fish

    fry liver and onion

all simultaneously the next time CPS comes

    pita ';if'; this is true

I've had success using ';Petzyme'; [ buy at petsmart, etc.] AND

doing a thorough drenching, followed by covering the area with a towel overnight.

The ';covering and drenching'; goes against the label directions, BUT is supported by some enzyme products used by crime scene cleaners.

This method has worked when the enzyme ';by convention'; did not.

I would also be tempted to sprinkle a bottle of vanilla extract into the carpet just to mask the odor ';if'; I had to replace the carpet and pad and could not at this time.
    is it the mattress?
Try sprinkling baking soda all over the carpet (don't let the kids in!) leave for a few hours and vacuum up. See if it doesn't help a bit. Or carpet refresher that is powder form absorbs odor molecules too.

    http://www.armhammer.com/basics/magic/

    http://www.thesteamteam.com/austin-carpe鈥?/a>
Can someone tell me who CPS is?
I would say that if it is your home you should tear up the carpeting sometimes smells get so permeated into the carpet that they are impossible to get out. Because of the padding that is underneath it all needs to be ripped up and replaced. No amout of shampooing or deoderants will take care of these situations. This is usually because they have seeped into the wood floor underneath and that needs to be cleaned before the new carpeting is placed. Or you could just leave the floors bare if you have natural wood floors underneath the carpeting. This is usually a problem with urine because it was not cleaned up immediately or it was repeately stained and that is a hard odor to get rid of. Good luck.

Is pantene shampoo okay for kids?

my sister is 8 1/2 and has fine, limp straight hair.

i wanted to give it more body and shine, and i don't know what shampoo i should use for that.

    any suggestions?

what about aussie or sunsilk or other brands?

thank you ;]Is pantene shampoo okay for kids?
don't use pantene! it has a bad chemical. use aussie if you want body.Is pantene shampoo okay for kids?
you should use kiwi blow silk

DONT use pantene!!!!! it will just make her hair greasy, even though she will think its glossy like everyone else.

but they only sell blow silk in salons, and its not a shampoo, you can just lather it in your dry hair.
:] the new Dove Therapy, shampoo and condition line works REALLY well! there's a SHINE set and VOLUME set, sold separately however.

but I recommend it! VERY effective! :]
    pantene is bad for EVERYONE....

(its seriously bad for your hair. DON'T USE IT!!!)

  • Is there a difference in the pH of a kid's shampoo?

I sometimes use shampoo marketed for children because of the great scents they come in. I'm just wondering if the pH would be different than regular or ';adult'; shampoos. Also, what can the pH of a shampoo do to your hair?

Thanks in advanceIs there a difference in the pH of a kid's shampoo?
Yes, it is usually more alkaline than adult professional shampoos. Your hair's natural pH is around 6.

Alkaline products and chemical processes soften and swell the hair, which blasts open the cuticle and makes your hair brittle and dry.

Acidic products (though they have to have a very high acidity... 2-3) can be damaging too. They harden and shrink the cuticle, and in the right doses, can help seal in moisture in the cuticle, protecting your hair and making it shiny.

Johnsons' baby shampoo has always been on the alkaline side, and was once VERY alkaline when it was primarily used to get rid of cradle cap.

As far as scents go... I would try some organic shampoos that contain pureganic fragrance. Besides being ';green'; they are very gentle to the hair... try Sexy Hair Organics. The smell is very soothing...Is there a difference in the pH of a kid's shampoo?
    nope they are the same

    just smell better

    Dandruff shampoo for kids?

My 4yr old daughter has gotten some dandruff in her hair, is there any special kids shampoo for this i dont want to give her adult shampoo, but should I?Dandruff shampoo for kids?
You can safely wash your daughter's hair with Head and Shoulders.Dandruff shampoo for kids?
The issue is eyes. You don't want an ';adult '; shampoo which wll burn if she gets it in her eyes.
try this.... rub baby oil on her scalp and gently massage the scalp with a comb to remove the dead skin. then use a tea tree oil shampoo to shampoo her hair. you might have to shampoo a couple of times to get all the oil out. do this once a week. if her scalp is oily, be careful not to over wash, that over stimulates the oil producers on her head.. a good trick is to use a little baby powder to absorb the oil. good luck.
there should be some in the kids section =you will just have to read the labels okay

Garnier Fructis or Kids Suave Shampoo?

Hey yall! This question is for my 2year old daughter. LOL. On the front of the fructis it has listed Vitamins, advocado oil and very beneficial ingredients for hair. Now Suave doesn't have vitamins and all that good stuff, but it still say for kids so im guessing its less harsh?... I don't know what ingredients to look for that are bad for hair. What do you think? What are so good stuff for kids? I know some parents just put regular johnsons soap but my daughter has ALOTTTTT of hair its almost down her buttocks!Garnier Fructis or Kids Suave Shampoo?
I never had much success with Garnier Fructis shampoo. Kids Suave shampoo, however, is really nice shampoo, even for adult hair, and it is ';no more tears';, so you wouldn't have to worry about it getting into your daughter's eyes and stinging badly. If you are worried about allergies or sensitive skin, they now have a sensitive/no colors/light fragrance version of Kids Suave.

You might also want to consider getting a leave in conditioner. It works great to get rid of tangles.Garnier Fructis or Kids Suave Shampoo?

Go with the kids shampoo. There's a reason there is shampoo for kids.
im14 and i use garnier, but for a baby, i dont realli think that it matters, but id go with the other one

Why does kid shampoo have way better scents than the crap I use?

they have like mango splash and wacky watermelon wtfWhy does kid shampoo have way better scents than the crap I use?
im jealous too :(Why does kid shampoo have way better scents than the crap I use?
I know, I agree with you. They have this johnson's baby cologne. Ugh, it smells heavenly.

Kids l'oreal paris shampoo,is it bad for teens?

I'm 13 and i headr that the kids shampoo that come in different scents is good for makin your hair soft and silky, that part of the reviews i read.Kids l'oreal paris shampoo,is it bad for teens?
L'oreal is pretty versatile. When it says ';Kids'; I believe it really can be used for teens, and even adults. I wouldn't recommend baby shampoo, but L'oreal is a great shampoo and most definitley suitable for teens as well as kids and adults. Go for it! I have before (I'm 14).Kids l'oreal paris shampoo,is it bad for teens?
I'm a mom, and I use Pantene conditioner (great for curly hair) and Johnson and Johnson No More Tears shampoo. That's what my daughter Karma gets on her hair and I love how it smells.
    Check this out...

    http://www.ewg.org/reports/skindeep/?key鈥?/a>
I'm 15 years old, and I absolutely LOVE L'oreal Kids shampoo! I use it almost everyday, and it definately has NOT damaged or hurt my hair. I get a lot of compliments on how soft and shiny my hair is. I would recommend using L'oreal Kids shampoo if you like the scents, so go ahead and use it! It makes my hair really pretty, so I bet it would do the same for you!
It's fine for any age, it's just less harsh, and tear free. But if you have oily hair I'd probably use something else
Kids shampoo actually have less chemicals that Pantene or Herbal Essences. I like them because they are more gentle on the hair and they make your hair smell soooo good, even better than Garnier Fructis!
Of Course not! It just says ';kids'; because it is child friendly...if they get it in their eyes it won't sting. Anyone can use it! Go for it!

My kids have lice. Does the shampoo kill the eggs too?

My two daughters have lice. I did a shampoo and comb out treatment last week and sprayed our furniture and pillows with 'rid' spray. I wanna know if the shampoo kills the eggs too, because the box of 'Rid' says ';Do a second treatment in 7-10 days to kill the eggs that may have hatched.'; Now, if this is suppose to kill lice, wouldn't it kill the eggs too? This is confusing. PLEASE HELP%26gt; I have two new boxes of ';Rid'; but what now? Is there an easier way to get rid of lice?My kids have lice. Does the shampoo kill the eggs too?
The shampoo cannot guarantee to kill all the eggs and if they hatch after the shampoo and comb thru you will be in the same situation in a few days. It is best to go ahead and do a second shampoo and comb thru. Make sure to comb in bright light, sunlight is best, so you can see all the eggs. I hope you get it cleared up soon!My kids have lice. Does the shampoo kill the eggs too?
I have seen Original Listerine mouthwash used for headlice. There are a number of methods on how to use it if you do a search of Listerine Head Lice.

Rid Chemical Lice killer can be VERY Toxic to the neurological system as well as the liver of your child, so I would never use it.
    http://search.live.com/results.aspx?srch… yes it does
The shampoo doesn't kill the eggs. That is why a 2nd treatment is done for when those eggs hatch. The best way to get rid of lice is a time consuming process of picking all the nits out until you get every one. Work on it everyday because it can't be done at once, due to it being easy to miss some. It doesn't take long for them to start multiplying again. My daughter had lice 2 years ago and it took over 3 weeks of nit picking her long, thick hair. Sitting in sunlight while doing this helps you to see the nits better. Good luck--there is no easy out for this one.
noo it does not u have to cleen alot wash eveyr thing they r a pain

Can anyone IN JAPAN recommend a reasonably priced two-in-one shampoo + conditioner suitable for kids?

I'm on the outskirts of Tokyo prefecture, and my daughter's supply of L'Oréal kids shampoo from the UK has almost run out!

The only decent looking two-in-one I've found so far is a Ban-dai kids effort - 357円 for 150 ml. We did find another one once, we bought it from a local 100円 store ... but it was SO drying we had to use conditioner afterwards anyway! Can't use something like that on my daughter, she has fairly fine hair, and it will frizz up like a bush if she uses grotty shampoo..!

So I would be very grateful for any (sensible, and Japan based) recommendations for a decent yet not-expensive product! Also, which shops you've found it in - and all the kanji etc. from the front please, so I know exactly what I'm looking for..!!Can anyone IN JAPAN recommend a reasonably priced two-in-one shampoo + conditioner suitable for kids?
Have you tried Soft in One? It costs 1,000 yen for a big bottle. You would want to try the pink colored one since it is the しっとり(moisturizing) type. But to give you more selection, the second link is all the 2-in-1 shampoos you can buy online. They also have Johnson's kid 2-in-1 shampoo. In Japanese they call 2-in-1 shampoo リンスインシャンプー (rinse in shampoo) so you can ask your neighborhood for リンスインシャンプー.Can anyone IN JAPAN recommend a reasonably priced two-in-one shampoo + conditioner suitable for kids?
I hope that you will be able to find one that is suitable for your daughter! Report Abuse

Foreign Buyer's Club probably has the L'Oreal you are looking for, among other things.

    http://www.fbcusa.com/public2/
To be honest, I haven't seen any 2 in 1 since I've been in Japan. They all have seperate bottles.
If you(she) are suffering from the itchy scalp, try Merit.

Either separate or two-in-one are availavle.

    http://www.kao.co.jp/merit/products/inde…

I like this cos it's hypoallergenic. However, I'm little worry about your word ';drying'; for your daughter.

    Please try this yourself first.
When you try to wash and condition in one step, all you are doing is keeping the dirt on her hair and making it slimy at the same time.

    Try Suntori Sake!

Hispanic is a culture and language.

    It's does not define race.

I know Hispanics whiter than the Queen of England and darker than Bill Cosby.

Any product for children for dry hair will work nicely.
My daughter...half-spanish....has to use both shampoo and conditioner to be able to comb it. lol But 2 times a week I put colesterol on her hair and it helps it a lot. Don't forget to rinse really well to get the extra out, though. Good luck!

Would you recommend Burt's Bees shampoo for your kids?

    Hey Everyone,

I have 21 month old twins, I have used Johnson's baby shampoo on them, but I am considering switching to Burt's Bees.

    Would you recommend using it?

    Does it work well?

Any info you have on it would be great!!

Or other products you love that you would recommend...

Thanks A Bunch!!!Would you recommend Burt's Bees shampoo for your kids?
burt's bees works great for little kids!

they also have ';Baby Bee'; shampoo, which is for babies. but if you're concerned about the regular ( like tearing) try it!

( the deep conditioner is amazing too!)

my favorite shampoo and conditioners are the moisturizing ones from Burt's Bees!Would you recommend Burt's Bees shampoo for your kids?
I would stop using J%26amp;J's Baby Shampoo; it has parabens, a carcinogen and endocrine disrupter, and other not so friendly chemicals. http://www.productalert.ca/news/johnson-鈥?/a>

Burt's Bees has wonderful products. The baby shampoo is tearless, pH Balanced, free of: Sodium Lauryl/Laureth Sulfate, Paraben %26amp; Phthalate. I love their products.

I don't have children but often help shop for safe products for my absolutely adorable nephew who has dry skin. The organic/natural aisle in the grocery store usually has a great selection of baby products that are free of ingredients we try to avoid.

Another one I've heard of that's supposed to be good but haven't tried is: The Original Little Sprout http://www.originalsprout.com/shampoo-co鈥?/a> There's a section where you can look up retailers in your area.
I love all the Burts Bees baby products. I especially like the shampoo/body wash. It lathers so much that I only have to use a tiny bit on the washcloth and it smells so wonderful. I also use the Burts Bees apricot baby oil and the lotion. The products have such a sweet smell that is my baby's ';signature'; scent now. I also feel good knowing that there arn't yucky chemicals in the products.
    Is it a kids shampoo?

I just use normal kid shampoo on my toddler. Loreal kids makes some nice shampoos and conditioners, even huggies and gerber have toddler lines.

    LOREAL Kids shampoo! Click! =)?

    1. Do you like the LOREAL kids shampoo? LOL when I was about 8 my mom stopped buying it for me but I love it so much that I just got the new IceAge one! And the grape conditioner!

    2. Is Suave Kids better? I like kids shampoo better IDK why. I will probably not use Suave Kids just because I used LOREAL kids from when I was 1-8 so yeah, can't leave it behind!

    3. What's your favorite LOREAL kids shampoo scent?

BTW: Buy the LOREAL Kids Buck's Berrydactyl Shampoo it smells soooo good! Next one I'm gonna buy is ANOTHER IceAge one! But they only make grape conditioner... it smells good too.

    1. Yes.

My little sister uses Loreal kids. I'm stuck with boring, depressing ones. :(
I love all the name brands for kids. It shows them I think they're special. Loreal is probably the best. You wanna know what smells sooo good? ';Outrageous';, it smells like grape perfume! Same as Aussie scrunch hairspray. Almost the same smell. sweeeet

I use the Suave Kids Shampoo for my daughter, who is now 5. I used to use the Johnson's all over baby wash, but once her hair got longer it would get tangled with that. So I tried the Suave and it works wonderfully, plus it smells great! Our faves are the cherry and watermelon scents. What kind of shampoo do you use on your kids?
Right now I use the Johnson and Johnson Shampoo: Lavender Chamomile (or something like that).

I LOVE the smell of it. My son is almost 3 yrs old and is just learning the “tilt your head back” thing. So until he’s mastered it, I’ll be using the tear free stuff! Because face it, we ALL hate when we get soap in our eyes!
I just switched to Suave Kids 2 in 1 Shampoo. Currently we're using the coconut scented one. It leaves his hair clean -- it smells good -- and it's much cheaper than Johnson's. I'm using the Suave kids body wash now too. Suave is tear free too.
When I started showering myself, I used what the rest of the family used. When I was a baby, my mom used Baby Magic. :] I use baby magic on my niece.

I am a full time mommy to her.
I used to use Johnson's baby shampoo lavender, but i now use l'Oreal kids orange shampoo because it smells great and is perfect for getting chlorine smells out of their hair after swimming.
L'oreal kids. I think it's watermelon scented and it's both a conditioner and shampoo.
We use California Baby for swimmers because my daughter spends a lot of time in the pool. I sometimes also use Burt's Baby Bee shampoo.
Whatever i happen at the time, they use adult shampoo, i think it's palmolive right now.
I use Johnson's baby shampoo for my 10 month old

and for my 6 year old I use V05 for dry hair.

My 14 year old foster son uses Axe

and my 11 year old sister uses Head and Shoulders.
    Johnson's baby shampoo.
I use Huggies washcloths for their bath for both their bodies and hair.

    So Huggies....lol.
they use whatever i use. i just tell them its time to rinse and time to close your eyes.....
Johnson's baby shampoo works the best. No tears!
    Johnson's baby wash.
i use parents choice lavender whole body wash.

    Anyone use kids shampoo/conditioner?

Are brands like L'oreal Kids, Suave kids, or Johnson %26amp; Johnson baby shampoo not as good as regular ones? I'm looking for a shampoo and/or conditoner that's gentle enough to use everyday.Anyone use kids shampoo/conditioner?
I use Johnson %26amp; Johnson's Baby Shampoo on a pretty much daily basis. It does the job without drying my hair out like many ';name brand'; shampoos do.Anyone use kids shampoo/conditioner?
If I'm in a pinch I use whatever is in the shower...L'oreal kids or suave. They smell great %26amp; clean well, however I feel I need a bit more conditioning after I use them. Have fun.
i love the kids shampoos, but it just depends on your hair type. i switch shampoo every few days other wise my hair gets oily
Go to cosmeticdatabase.org to see which brands of shampoo/conditioner are safe. You would be surprised how many children's products contain chemicals that have been known to cause cancer, reproductive problems, etc. I use Earth Mama Angel Baby shampoo w/my daughter. It's a very low risk for toxicity, and gentle and mild. Good luck!
I use Suave kids conditioner and baby wash for soap and shampoo. My skin is super super sensitive and the Equate baby wash and Suave grape kid conditioner (the apple has something in it- don't know what) is the best.
get herble essance they have different sences also

Where can i buy something that will stop shampoo going into kids eyes?

You could buy a bunch of things to eliviate the problem, but will your child wear them? My wouldn't. Since my daughter could sit up in the tub, when it's time to rinse the shampoo, I pretend there is something on the ceiling, a spider, a bird, or hang something on the ceiling for them to look at, while she's looking quickly rinse the soap out of the hair. It works for me all of the time and now she's two and tilt her chin up and we don't have any problems. Good LuckWhere can i buy something that will stop shampoo going into kids eyes?
It may sound weird but what I do is have my children lay on their backs on the kitchen counter and wash their hair in the sink. This way their face is facing the ceiling and they don't get nervous about their eyes getting soap in it.Where can i buy something that will stop shampoo going into kids eyes?
You can get a cup at Wal-Mart that will help. Hold on, I'll find a link....
I used swim goggles for my last two children. It keeps the soap and water out of their eyes. The strap isn't that big where you can't move it to scrub their hair.
A wet wash cloth over the forehead, and the head tilted slightly back along with some ';no tear'; shampoo always worked wonders for me!

Oldest of 5 kids, mom of 3!
Chemists used to sell a round plastic cover with a hole in the middle for their heads, try your local one.

    You could try swimming goggles.
When I was little we had baby hats/visors, they were foamy and went around the head just under the hairline and worked pretty well. I don't know where we got them, check babies r us.
I always tell my sons to look up at the shower and tell me if it dripping. For the younger one I just use Suave tearless shampoo.
i bought a visor, it didnt work well, i would just recommend having the child hold a wash cloth over their face
my mom would just tell us to use a wash clothe and hold it to our eyes, or the parent can hold it.
Try swimming goggles. I don't know how it will work, I only just now thought of it. Worth a try, though!

I don't use them but thay smell really good.
I use the Swim and Sport one and I LOVE it.
I like the strawberry and the kiwi!

    They smell really good :)
yeaaa I love their shampoo! It's really gentle because it's for kids.. so if you have oily hair, I don't recommend it. Yes, strawberry is good, but different people have different taste so I don't know if it will appeal to you. ALL of them smells good!
    Sure. It is good :0)

Kids shampoo doesnt make sense what do u think?

when you buy baby shampoo it says no tears but when u read the back of the label it says if gets into eyes wash imedietley with water this always puzzles me when its supposed to be alright if it gets into there eyes, what do u think.Kids shampoo doesnt make sense what do u think?
I think they put that there so you don't just take the cap off and pour it into your eyes.Kids shampoo doesnt make sense what do u think?
it means that if your washing there hair and a little gets in there eyes it they should be fine....now if you kid is playing with the soap and wipes it in there eyes then yes it will burn and you need to rinse it asap
haha. thats an interesting facct. get it into your eyes and tell us what you experienced =P jk
    idk
The PH levels in childrens shampoo's are not as strong as the one's in adults shampoos. Although they are only very mild, they can still cause irritation to a childs eyes hence the advice from the manufactors.
it is more gentle for the eye and less irritating than ordinary shampoo...but i guess its better to rinse it off properly
the pH is adjust so it will not burn the eye that does not mean it is not harmful to the eye
it doesn't sting but it still could do damage to the kids sight if it's left in the eyes for too long.
It's got a lot of glycerine in it so it doesn't sting the eyes, but it can still be harmful if it's not rinsed out.
There is an ingredient in child shampoo that's formaldehyde. Look up the ingredient QUANTERNIUM-15 , you'll be shocked what all else this chemical is in.
    In case a bit gets into your eyes, it will not cause a major irritation, so it will not be harmful. That's why it's called ';no tears';

However, it is not supposed to stay in the eyes, as prolonged contact may cause damage

It is the same for many products- for example, dish detergent is usually OK for your hands and will not cause major damage, but if you let your hands soak in it for a long time, the soap will deteriorate your skin
it means that the soap is not irritating enough to cause tear..

but sure can be toxic to the baby if enough is absorved

so try to wipe off *** much as possible
i use baby shampoo on both my children and it says no more tears but my son is always telling me it stings his eyes.

not sure why they say its safe when you have to wash it out imedietley

Can you buy L'oreal Kids Cherry-Almond shampoo in Canada?

If they had it they would have it at drug stores or ones like walmart. I went to walmart the other day (in WA state, not canada) and i didnt see it (i was looking for it too!) so i dont know if they stopped making it or what but i would jsut check all the walmart-like stores and see if you have any luck. It's not the best quality shampoo available, but it smells really good. It won't hurt your hair, and it will get it clean, but if you need more moisture or need to protect color-treated hair, I wouldn't recommend it.Has anyone tried loreal kids shampoo?is it good for hairs?
I tried loreal kids shampoo. It smells really good, and it never made my eyes burn. After, my hair was pretty managable, and it made my brother's normally thick hair silky smooth. I'd give it a try!!
haha. I remember when they came out with that shampoo..or i at least remember the commercials for it.

  • What is the best shampoo organic or natural for kids?

Dr. Bronner's soaps and shampoos. All natural and wonderful stuff. I love the almond oil shampoo. Makes my hair really shiny and healthy!

Hmmm. Arbone. Thanks folks, I will check this out too!

Well, just checked it out and was hit with flash adds and weight loss products. Nope, not a good product if they are selling weight loss products instead of promoting good health and weight through proper eating. I'll stick with Doc Bronners. What is the best shampoo organic or natural for kids?

What shampoo do you use for your kids?

    Hey,

I was just wondering what kind of shampoo you use for your kids?

My kids are 8,4, %26amp; 21 month old twins.

    For my 8 %26amp; 4 year olds, I use L'Oreal Kids shampoo.

For my twins, I use Johnson's Baby Shampoo.

I was just wondering what brand you use?

Thanks! What shampoo do you use for your kids?
Burt's Bees Baby shampoo. What shampoo do you use for your kids?
I use Johnson's for my 2 year old. She still doesn't have a lot of hair. I tried using the L'Oreal for my bigger children but it did not clean their hair very good. So now I use Herbal Essence on my 4 and 6 year old.

Could i use a tearless kids shampoo on my guinea pig?

Well if u really need to bath them u should only wash them below the ears cause if u get water in there ears it could cause an ear infection. But the type of shampoo u should use is a mild kind. Not to fragrantly or smelly. Yea so that's about it.Could i use a tearless kids shampoo on my guinea pig?
they shouldn't be washed unless Absolutely necessary so if u have to get small animal shampoo made for them

It says on the l'oreal kids shampoo 2 in 1 just says ';shampoo'; does it mean theres no conditioner?

Ok,so i was testing shampoos to see what one makes my hair soft and silky and everyone says l'oreal kids shampoo 2 in 1 is good strawberry scent then i thought it has conditioner in it too but it just says shampoo 2 in 1?im confused!!It says on the l'oreal kids shampoo 2 in 1 just says ';shampoo'; does it mean theres no conditioner?
    Hi,

The 2 in 1 means its has shampoo and conditioner but because its a kids shampoo its not really going to do anything for your hair. As we get older our hair produces more natural oils that kids shampoo isn't going to help. I would suggest sticking to standard shampoo and conditioner. Kids shampoo wont make your hair silky and smooth. Hope that made sense lol :)It says on the l'oreal kids shampoo 2 in 1 just says ';shampoo'; does it mean theres no conditioner?
Sorry I don't know, but I use L'oreal Kids and it's so good. I use mango orange, it really does make your hair silky and soft. Everyone is inlove with my hair ! %26gt;%26lt; Report Abuse

no it does not have conditioner they just say that so they could attract more people to buy it (only if it does not say conditioner on it)

p.s. never buy the shampoos that say 2 in 1 they never work just buy the conditioner and shampoo separat
The best way to go is to get both in their own bottle. Then your hair will be soft. The mix is not worth it and don't half the job!!!

How do I get the Vasiline out of my kids hair if I have already tried using every soap and shampoo I have?

My daughters hair looks really wet and it has since yesterday after her and my son got into a whole thing of Vasisline! I tried Head and Shoulders and all the other shampoos and conditioners I could find around the house and nothing worked for me! PLEASE HELP me SOON we are going on vacation tomorrow!! LoL! I got 2 wet lookin kiddies! How do I get the Vasiline out of my kids hair if I have already tried using every soap and shampoo I have?
Vaseline won't hurt your kids hair. It might look wet for a while, but it might actually help to moisturize their hair (good if they're going to be out in the sun while on vacation.)

If you want to get the Vaseline out, try just a drop or two of dish soap (not detergent) like Dawn. It's perfectly safe for hair and skin and will help to remove the Vaseline.

If that doesn't work, there should be a customer service number on the jar of Vaseline. Call them and ask for suggestions.

    Vaseline In The Hair

    Karen Marie Shelton

    Date: 4/21/2001, 10/29/2004

    Introduction

Today I had yet another AskKaren ';hair disaster'; email. A mom wrote to tell me that her 15 year old daughter had used Vaseline to create faux dreads on her gorgeous waist length hair.

The good news was that the faux dreads turned out great. Unfortunately, the bad news was that the Vaseline could not be removed from the hair. Nothing worked. After many unsuccessful shampoo attempts the mom decided that the only option was the scissors. Luckily she decided to email me before she took this last irreversible step.

Is there a way to remove Vaseline from the hair without scissors? Yes, absolutely. The treatment that I describe below works about 90% of the time after the first treatment. It will work 99% of the time after two treatments.

Steps For Removing Vaseline From The Hair

STEP 1: Take a paper towel and blot as much of the Vaseline from the hair as possible onto the paper towel. Do not rub as this can damage the hair. Blot and pat carefully.

STEP 2: Apply a little cornstarch or cornmeal powder (do not use baby powder as it can be harmful to the lungs) to the sections of the hair that contains the Vaseline. Blot or pat the cornstarch onto the hair. Again, do not rub. Make sure that the entire area of Vaseline is covered with a light amount of the cornstarch or cornmeal powder.

STEP 3: Once the hair has been completely covered step into a warm, not hot, shower. Apply a good clarifying shampoo to the palms of your hand and then apply to the hair.

STEP 4: Shampoo twice to make sure that all the cornstarch and the Vaseline are removed from your hair.

STEP 5: Rinse with warm water until clear.

STEP 6: Apply a good rinse out conditioner to your hair. This is important since the two applications of clarifying shampoo will tend to dry out most hair.

STEP 7: Rinse well and do a cool or cold water final rinse.

STEP 8: Towel blot hair. apply detangler, pick out tangles and then let the hair air dry.

If all the Vaseline is not removed during the first treatment, do another treatment in 24 hours. That should successfully eliminate all of the Vaseline residue.

Why do you have to use cornstarch or cornmeal powder? The cornstarch binds with the Vaseline and allows it to be carried out of the hair by the shampoo. Without a binding agent (like cornstarch or cornflower) the Vaseline just remains attached to the hair cuticle.

Although some visitors have reported success with white flour and other similar binding agents, the best results seem to be guaranteed with the cornstarch or cornmeal powder.

Question: how can you remove vaseline petroleum jelly from hair?

Answer: SPOT found many different suggested remedies for removing Vaseline from hair (SPOT has no first-hand experience here, so try what you think might work for you):

Suggestion #1: Saturate hair in baby oil. Squeeze out as much of the oil as you can, then wash hair three times with Dawn dish soap.

Suggestion #2: Put cornstarch on hair. Pat it in and let it set for a few minutes. Shampoo twice with a clarifying shampoo. Repeat again in 24 hours, if needed.

Suggestion #3: Work peanut butter through hair. Wash thoroughly.

Suggestion #4: Rinse hair with vinegar, then water.

    Good luck!

Hope one of those works! Have fun on your vacation! How do I get the Vasiline out of my kids hair if I have already tried using every soap and shampoo I have?
    one word-DAWN
use very hot water and shampoo
Just one question - HOW THE HELL DID YOU GET VASELINE

    IN YOUR KIDS HAIR?
The same thing happened to me regarding this nasty pomade stuff. Try some Suave Clarifying Shampoo. It got all of the greasiness out after a couple washings.
The best way to get vaseline out of hair is to sprinkle baby powder on the hair. The powder will soak up the oils and grease. Then wash with a regular shampoo. You may have to do a couple of washings but it will come out.
You'd have to be careful for their eyes, and I don't know what it will do for their hair color, but I would try something with citric acid in it. Like Goo-Gone, or even just straight lemon juice. It should break down vaseline pretty quick.

    Otherwise, maybe mineral oil?

    Good Luck!
well you are going to need something to soak up oils, you might laugh but try flour or baking soda... anything that will soak up oils and wont damage the hair will work, it will soak up oils quickly. After you do that then wash their hair once or twice. If that dosent work then idk what to tell you. lol

GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR WET LOOKING KIDS :) haha
cut it off...its just hair itll grow back, and after it happens, they will never put it in their hair again
Like they say oil and water don't mix so I would suggest do nothing and it will go away on its own. Just keep combing and brushing.
talcon powder. people put that in thr hair when its greasy so it mite work
OMG. that same thing happened to my aunt but I bet the stories are totally different. She was playing with the Vaseline and put the whole entire tube in her hair. Just try dish liquid. Not dish washer liquid though. It'll take a while for it to come out though. Be very careful , my aunt's hair is very damaged now.

PS. the Vaseline may cause her natural hair to change. It might be tangled lots and poofy but the dish liquid is the only thing I could suggest.
I've heard that vinegar works on hair to cut oiliness.

And it won't damage the hair.
it's not a major problem . Time will take care of it
Well, one of my friends daughters had vaseline in her hair too. You could possibly try Selsun Blue, but she said that after about 10 washes she was able to get most of it out. You may just need to wash and rinse over and over again! I would take sections of her hair and concentrate on each section.
Try using a soap bar or body wash. These are high in alkalinity, hopefully they will break down the Vaseline. After use a hydrating shampoo and conditioner.
